"...I decided to carry out a project with a new “outfit”, that escaped from photojournalism and documentary photography that I am very used to, and with a new aesthetic, to go further, change my look, look outside my principles..."

About this project

These images were taken for 2 months, in 6 sessions, at different times of the day, at the Fundição de Sinos de Braga.
In order to carry out this work, I chose a reference on the national scene, António Júlio Duarte, and after some reflection I decided to carry out a project with a new “outfit”, that would escape from photojournalism and documentary photography to which I am very accustomed, and with a new aesthetic , go further, change my look, look outside my principles, try to produce a set of images where the idea was not to photograph the most obvious but rather the images with certain details of the craft, more simplified, more geometric, cartoon situations, and angles little worked on by me.
The final result is a set of images, all taken within the foundry facilities, and these images refer us to an old, worked, factory, handcrafted space, which is stripped of human presence, but loaded with artifacts, objects of a craft. already old and unique that send us to a humanized space.
I present the images according to an established order, because in my opinion, although the important thing in this work is not the process of designing a bell, and although these images work independently of each other, I understood that these images may be a forgetfulness, or reminiscent of a process that I want the visitor to try to discover.
